The VSSL x Kay Foye 2020 Collection

Kay Foye transforms knife handles into masterful pieces of art by integrating rare and uniquely personal artifacts in to each handle. This year, we’re releasing a limited edition, 3-part collection of 30 Buck 110 Folding knives. VSSL will be donating 10% of all knife sales to Communitas, a local Abbotsford based organization that helps find employment for youth with special needs. To learn more about the history behind the VSSL x Kay Foye partnership and the inspiration behind this year’s collection, read more on our blog.

RAM

Rams are powerful, territorial, and possess an amazing ability to survive in extremely rugged and nearly inaccessible locations. The Big Horn sheep is the embodiment of resilience and the focus of these blades. The ‘Ram’ collection is comprised of 10 custom, hand-forged Buck 110 folding knives. Each knife in this collection has been carefully crafted with elements collected from Kay Foye’s travels, including ram’s horn, buckeye burl, jasper, and turquoise inlays.

ELK

Majestic and very social, Elk herds are a matriarchal social unit and are led by a single female, playing homage to Kay Foye’s work in trailblazing the path for female knife makers. 10 uniquely designed brass brushed Buck 110 folding knives make up the Elk collection. The handles of the knives are individually hand-crafted with mature bull elk antler, aspen wood, and stone inlay.

Mammoth

History’s most iconic extinct creature. The woolly mammoth is a reminder of the resiliency of our ancestors. They used the woolly mammoth as a source of food, while bones and tusks were used for the manufacture of art objects, music instruments, tools, furniture, and shelter. This rich history is showcased in the components of this 10 piece collection, comprised of mammoth tooth, purpleheart wood, and blue oak.
